We just got new cell phones at work, and seeing as I was there yesterday my dad and I spend a bit of time playing with out new toys. I got a Nokia 6230 while mom and dad got the 6820.
We experimented with bluetooth (both phone to phone and phone to computer), tried out Salling Clicker which unfortunately does not support the series 40 phones (ie. newer Nokia phones) yet, and played a bit with the wap and other internet settings.
Then dad showed me midpssh, an SSH client for MIDP or Java phones. Fortunately this runs on my 6230 too. In the beginning, however, I couldn’t get it to work, somehow it just wouldn’t connect to my server.
On the phone I had three wap settings: Two identical GPRS settings, TDC Mobil WAP GPRS; and a GSM data setting, TDC Mobil WAP CSD. Of the two GPRS settings I could only edit one of them, so I did. I changed the name to recognise it, and changed the GPRS Access Point from wap to internet. And then it worked! I now have a working SSH client on my cell phone.
