In Denmark the national lottery has a Christimas calendar every year. The calendar has 24 fields that have to be scraped off, one for each day. After scraping each field a symbol is revealed: A Christmas tree (10), Santa Claus (9), a reindeer (8), a drum (7), a mistletoe (6), a Christmas candle (5), an ornament (4), or a star (3). The numbers above signify how many of each you must get to win a prize. The main prize is 1,000,000 kr.
Last year I had nine Christmas trees a week before the 24th, but wound up with no prizes at all. This year I not only had nine Christmas trees with several days to go, but also eight Santa Clauses, and I still didn’t win anything. If they’re not gonna let me win the million, can’t they just make sure I get I don’t get that many Christmas trees? It’s very annoying to get your hopes up like that.
On the other hand, it’s snowing a lot outside. I guess it’ll be a good Christmas anyway.
Merry Christmas, to one and all
