We have now begun a new year, and 2006 is behind us. For New Years we had a few friends over. Fortunately, I used some vacation time between Christmas and New Years which gave us time to clean up for our party. However, I get ahead of myself.

I must warn any reader that this is a rather longish entry detailing most of what happened to us between Christmas and New Years.

Autumn and winter running

I haven’t really been writing about my running, but I have actually been running on a regular basis for more than a year. It all started when I noticed that I had gained 5 kg during the first few months at Nokia. Eating two more meals each day (breakfast and lunch) without an increase in activity level will do that to you.

In the beginning I ran on the treadmills at work. It was relaxing, and I was surprised at how well I was doing. One thing that bothered me was that I didn’t feel like I was in control. In May I bought a pulsemeter to get more information out of my runs, and started running outdoors.
